General rules:

1. The official rules of the Shetland Pony Studbook Society in the UK apply to this show – except in cases where the show’s own rules (see the following paragraphs) take precedence.

 

  1. All participating animals must be registered with – or in case of foals could be registered with – “Shetland Pony Studbook Society” or a daughter stud book recognized by SPSBS. Animals registered in another society must have a pedigree that can be traced back to stallions and mares exported from the UK with correct export certificates. All participating animals must have a horse passport (with the exception of foals less than 6 months accompanied by their mothers).

 

  1. Foals must be shown in hand and be accompanied by their dams in the show ring. Foals must be at least three weeks old. Mares with foal at foot must be accompanied by their own foals. A yeld mare is a mare that has not produce a foal in the current year. Any mare that has produced a foal in the current year must be accompanied by this foal in the show ring.
  2. Three-year-old mares with foals are excluded from participating in this show.
  3. A pony must only participate in one show class. A pony may participate in several performance classes.
  4. The show classes are divided in black and coloured as well as by size (mini (up to 86 cm), medium (87 cm to 95 cm) and standard (96 cm to 107 cm)

 

  1. If a participating animal appears unhealthy, it must be examined by the show veterinarian and if the animal is not fit for showing, it must be removed from the competition. Should any animal be considered to carry a contagious disease, it should be placed in isolation at the request of the vet.

 

  1. Judges’ decisions are final.

 

  1. One, if any objection must be made within 30 minutes of the end of the class, in writing, indicating the full name and address of the opposing person and must be submitted to the secretary together with an amount of 750 kr. All deposits will be returned if the objection is upheld – Kept if the objection proves to be inappropriate or incorrect.
  1. It is forbidden to use extensions for mane, tail and forelock.

 

  1. All ponies must be checked by a veterinarian and have identity checks on arrival.

 

  1. Horse Influenza: It is recommended but not required that all ponies, except foals, have received a full influenza vaccination within 12 months prior to the show.

 

  1. No exhibitor may exhibit a pony before a judge who has known, possessed, sold, or has produced, or has (had) any other form of economic interest in the animal.

 

  1. All animals in riding and driving classes must be 4 years or older.

 

  1. All stallions (4 years and older) must be licensed and / or approved and / or accredited in accordance with the rules in their home country (from which they are displayed) in order to participate in the show classes (in hand).

 

  1. All stallions of 2 years and over must be bitted when being shown.
  1. In the “Leading Rein” and “First Ridden” classes stallions are not allowed.
  2. “Leading Rein”: For registered mares and geldings 4-years old and over. The rider must be 3 years old, but must not be 9 years before 1 January 2018. The pony and rider are shown by an adult who has a lead rein on the pony.

 

  1. “First Ridden”: For registered mares and geldings 4-years old and over. The rider must be 3 years old, but must not be 12 years old before 1 January 2018. The rider must be able to ride the pony without assistance.

     20. The show committee reserves the right to cancel, add or share any class On the basis of the received entries, as well as to return or reject any registration –

      as well as to appoint a deputy for a judge who may be prevented from judging.

21. Riders must wear riding hats at all times on the show ground.

22. In all classes participants must be correctly dressed. Exhibitors may not wear clothing with a name and or logo for their stud whilst they are in the show ring.

 

  1. Spurs are not allowed in the riding classes. A whip of max. 75 cm can be used.

 

  1. A fall / from horse in riding classes will result in disqualification. The rider must not remount in the ring but must lead the pony out.

 

  1. Changes to the natural and original markings of an animal are not allowed.

 

  1. Only 1 (one) person (= handler) is allowed ( show classes ) to show / accompany a pony in the show ring eg. no helper.

 

  1. Exhibitors are responsible for the behaviour of any other person working / helping them. All persons responsible for an exhibited animal are subject to orders from stewards and judges.

 

  1. Behaviour of Animals: If there is a risk that an unruly animal may cause an accident or injury, the judge has the power to ask exhibitors and animals to leave the ring.29. Animals must not be left unattended if they are tied to the side of a trailer or truck.

    30. Dogs must be kept under control and on a lead at all times and kept away from show rings.

 

  1. Do not ignite a fire or open barbecue anywhere on the show ground.

 

  1. The show committee assumes no liability whatsoever for loss or damage to persons, animals or property on the show ground, in the stable, in parking spaces and access roads.

 

  1. It is a condition for participation that all exhibitors must release the show and its officials against any economic and / or judicial requirements and so on. in connection with or as a result of the exhibitor’s participation in the show.

 

  1. Neither the Show Committee or any of its officials, employees, helpers or assistants shall in any way bear responsibility for any loss or damage that may occur (for reasons or circumstances) for exhibitors and their employees and assistants or for spectators, etc., or for animals or property or for vehicles brought into the showground or in premises used in connection with the show or while entering or leaving the same or otherwise for anything related to or as a result of this show .

 

  1. Each exhibitor is solely responsible for consequential damages and other loss or damage to or caused by or as a consequence of animals (including spread of infections and contagious disease) or items brought by the exhibitor to the show ground. In this case, the exhibitor must show the Show Committee all actions, procedures, obligations, claims, damages and expenses in connection with or as a result of his or her participation in the show.

 

  1. The Show Committee may in its sole discretion, without giving notice, refuse to exhibit or cancel an already registered entry or at the entrance to the show ground reject any animal or exhibit or person or withhold prizes. If any person under this provision is refused entry or participation is canceled, registration fees and the like may apply. After the Show Committee estimates are reimbursed and, if refunded, this must be accepted by the exhibitor as a full and satisfactory statement of any claim against the Show Committee

 

  1. The show committee is empowered to suspend or remove from the showground, at the expense and risk of an individual, an exhibitor’s animals and / or property – or any person who violates any of the rules for this show or the rules of the Breeding Association for Shetland Ponies in DK, or who refuses to abide by the instructions issued by stewards or whose behaviour by the Show Committee is perceived as impairing or at the expense of the Breeding Association of Shetland Ponies in DK or its members or which, in the view of the Show Committee, are / have been guilty of an act or omission involving cruelty or causing unnecessary suffering or neglect of animals of all kinds.
    All outstanding fees and charges must be paid by the responsible person before removal from the showground takes place.

 

  1. The Show Committee reserves the sole and exclusive right to interpret these and any other rules and regulations, and to determine and make any determination in any matter or disputes relating thereto or which otherwise arises from or is associated with this show .

 

Information to exhibitors:
-All necessary information will together with a schedule, card and the like. be sent by e-mail to the exhibitors together with their confirmation of registration.

Catalogues will be delivered to exhibitors on arrival, together with numbers and the like.

– Catalogues will be on sale at the show office from Friday, July 20th.; for spectators and for additional copies for exhibitors (one catalog is included for each exhibitor).

– The show office is open from Thursday, July 19th. 10.00 to Monday 23rd of July at 10:00

– In the show office there are toilets available at all times during the above period.

– There will also be an opportunity to buy breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and snacks in the show office.

– There are no cash prizes in this show.

– All exhibited animals will receive special rosettes produced for the occasion.

– Replacement of entered ponies is not allowed.

 

 

– Caravans, tents and lorries can be set up on the showground (see price list below); electricity is available. Access to toilet, showers, etc. are included in the quoted prices.

– A list of accommodation is included (see below).

 

– Boxes can be booked for a short or longer period (see price list below) – straw is included in the price. It will be possible to buy shavings on the showground.

 

– We hope that all exhibitors will attend the big party on Saturday evening, which will be held at the showground. Here we will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Association – and International cooperation. Dinner, drinks, music, dance – and fun !!
